Ruth Chepngetich of Kenya made history at the 2024 Chicago Marathon by setting a new world record for the women's race at an astonishing 2:09:56. Despite not making the Kenyan Olympic team, Chepngetich dedicated her triumph to the late Kelvin Kiptum. In the men’s race, Kenya’s John Korir finished first with a time of 2:02:43.
